| RockNet Mega Event
German superstars PUR gathered 65,000 during their “PUR & Friends Mega Event” at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The band closed their 2007 tour schedule with a 3-hour show that included guest performances of Christina Stuermer, Purple Schulz and legend Karel Gott. A 24-piece orchestra accompanied the main part of the show.
Gelsenkirchen, Germany, September 9, 2007 --- Sirius Showequipment AG of Niederdorfelden, Germany provided the complete audio package as well as part of the lighting equipment.
The show was laid out on a center stage with a turntable and two satellite stages, one for the orchestra and the other mainly used for guest performances. This layout demanded a 12-hang complex PA system to provide adequate coverage for the whole arena. The sound design was done by Frank Mueller and Holger Schader of Sirius and Patrick Eckerlin, PUR’s FOH mixer, based on simulations and experiences with similar shows this size.
A Media Numerics 32 in / 48 out RockNet system was used to provide the return audio to about 150 amplifiers at four locations, driving a massive JBL Vertec rig consisting of 208 cabinets.
